News: Smelling Your Partner’s Farts Will Make You Live Longer, Scientists Research Reveals | Vibes On Heat

According to Unilad No matter whether you like it or not, according to scientists, smelling your partner’s farts will amazingly make you live longer. Yes you read that right, a research team at the University of Exeter have discovered it is good for you to inhale your partner’s stinky farts as the gases in them can combat diseases.
So if you catch your partner eyeing you up weirdly tonight in bed, just sitting there waiting, you know why.
he study, published in the journal Medicinal Chemistry Communications, analysed the impact of the gas hydrogen sulfide which humans produce in small amounts.
Although it was found to be noxious in large doses, researchers discovered that cellular exposure to small amounts of the gas can prevent mitochondrial damage which has many health implications.
One of the researchers, Dr. Mark Wood, said:
Although hydrogen sulfide is well known as a pungent, foul-smelling gas in rotten eggs and flatulence, it is naturally produced in the body and could in fact be a healthcare hero.
Surprisingly the gas in farts can actually reduce the risk of several life threatening illnesses including cancer, stroke and heart attacks.
According to researchers, it has also been proven to prevent arthritis and dementia in old age.

Universal Pictures
Creating a new compound know as AP39, the team at the University believe this can hold the key to future therapies as it ensures that the body retains and produces the right amount of hydrogen sulfide.
Researchers claim that this compound can be delivered to targeted cells in the body and placed inside.
Professor Matt Whiteman, from the university’s medical school, added:
When cells become stressed by disease, they draw in enzymes to generate minute quantities of hydrogen sulfide.
This keeps the mitochondria ticking over and allows cells to live. If this doesn’t happen, the cells die and lose the ability to regulate survival and control inflammation.
We have exploited this natural process by making a compound, called AP39, which slowly delivers very small amounts of this gas specifically to the mitochondria.
Our results indicate that if stressed cells are treated with AP39, mitochondria are protected and cells stay alive.
University of Exeter
According to the scientists the research has shown that if AP39 is administered, in models of cardiovascular disease 80 percent of the heart’s mitochondria cells survive under highly destructive conditions.
Early results also that show that AP39 can help to lower high blood pressure and also dramatically improve the chances of survival after a heart attack by slowing the heartbeat making it more efficient.
The team are now working towards testing the compound in humans.
University of Exeter
This research is interesting but of course in its early stages with no real conclusions being made.
However, next time your partner has a go at your for farting, just tell them you are doing it out of the kindness of your heart.

Empowering the youth via Peace Corps of Nigeria | Vibes On Heat

BY GIDADO SHUAIB
Before the recent altercation between the Nigerian Police and the Peace Corps of Nigeria over the legality or constitutionality of the establishment of the latter as an organisation, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalung had granted me an interview at a function in London early this year during my studies.
Mr. Dalung told me that the Peace Corps, in different countries, is a globally recognised  non-governmental and youth-based organization which focuses on working with the youth in exploring and enhancing their potentials for greatness towards harnessing and redirecting their productive energies for national development.
The Minister disclosed that since the law establishing the Peace Corps in Nigeria had been passed into law by the National Assembly, he anticipated a healthy collaboration and supervisory oversight of Ministry of youth on its activities. He said peace corps scheme is fashioned around a volunteer corps in some countries where young people serve their country by acquiring experiences to be able to fit into the system.
One of the challenging job requirement in Nigeria is the demand for years of working experiences where some employers would insist on at least three to four years of working experience before hiring a graduate. Therefore, the youth, upon graduation, become unemployable due to the discriminatory requirements.
The peace corps intends to address the challenge of youth unemployment by engaging young graduates into working environments where they could gain the basic experiences. It is only through selected services that they can acquire the necessary skills and experiences to fit into available jobs.
Dalung also raised his concern over those stringent and seeming impossible requirements. He said “I am a person not disposed to the requirement of experiences imposed on young people while seeking for jobs because the headmaster was once a schoolboy before becoming a teacher. There must be a take-off point in life.”
Surprisingly, the Peace Corps of Nigeria has been in existence for over a decade as a non-governmental organization but ineffective due to stiff resistance and rejection from some security agencies who see PCN as a threat to their operations.
The constant attacks on Nigerian Peace Corps from other security agencies, notably the Police have affected the anticipated engagements of 500,000 teeming youth. Recently, the National Commandant of the Corps, Dickson Akoh, was almost stripped naked by the police in public glare.
The headquarters of the organisation in Abuja was also sealed by men of the Police Force after raiding the premises and arrested the commandant and 49 others. The action was despite a directive of Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, who declared the actions of the police as illegal, unconstitutional and ordered that the office be unsealed immediately.
Several interventions of spirited organisation for the police to see the reason to allow the PCN be have not been successful. Recently some youth-based groups under the auspices of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) forced open the headquarters of the corps, but yet the policemen were adamant.
However, while the police are still harassing and intimidating members of PCN, the United Nations has granted seven slots to the Officers of the Peace Corps to attend and participate in major United Nations meetings and conferences, including that of the General Assembly.
Rather than addressing the security challenges of highway kidnappings, herdsmen attacks and armed robbery, the police force is chasing shadow by undermining the activities of an organisation that would address unemployment and insecurity. This impunity must stop.
It is necessary to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to assent the bill of the Peace Corps of Nigeria to enable the organisation to commence its operations in earnest. There are a lot of benefits derivable from the commencement of operation of the Nigerian version of Peace Corps if the bill becomes law.
Mr. Dalung had alluded to the fact that the law establishing the PCN would come to effect when he said that “I’m confident that being a father figure who is passionate about youth development, President Muhammadu Buhari will assent to the bill that will set the tone for another platform of engagement for young people into rendering services to the country through the peace corps of Nigeria..”
Can Mr. President do the needful on the Peace Corps of Nigeria now?

The Rise And Fall Of Buhari | Vibes On Heat

Image may contain: one or more people

This write up coming from the London Economist, a magazine that endorsed Buhari for President in 2015, is perhaps the most significant, objective, unbiased, unsentimental and deeply incisive analysis of the policies and actions of this president so far. The facts are unimpeachable by any objective mind.
.
The Unprecedented Level of Patience Shown to Buhari---the ECONOMICS

Nigerians have never shown such level of patience and tolerance towards any of their past leaders for his record and strange policies as that shown to their current leader, Muhammadu Buhari – a former military dictator now self-confessed democrat who said he came to fight corruption.
Buhari, 75, is being plagued with failures across every single sector in the economy, the like as has never been seen before. Less than a year into office, the economy plummeted into recession, an economy which had till then grown at an average rate of 7% in previous years (2011-2014).
.
The nation’s currency lost 70% of its value, unemployment rose from 6.5 to 26%, commodity prices tripled across many quarters and the state-regulated premium motor spirit prices were hiked by 67% without practically anybody batting an eye.
.
There have been stern opposition to his policies however and to his very personality as well, notably in the South East and South- South regions in the country as they are called, where he both received less than 5% of the votes cast at the last Presidential election and where he has always been sternly unpopular for his history of bigotry against the people, perceived incompetence and dictatorial tendencies.
.
But in many other regions across the country the people have rather resolved to suffer patiently, drawing up excuses for him at will, blaming everyone including his hundreds of political appointees, anything and anybody but never the man himself.
.
Buhari’s party, the APC, promised Nigerians unprecedented swiping changes in government and the eviction of all corrupt individuals.
.
One possible explanation for this could be his party’s hope narrative in the 2015 General election where citizens were promised an unprecedented crackdown on corruption and the abolition of all government waste by a man whose financial worth they declared to have been less than N30million ($150,000 then), a historical low for a former top official in the country and most especially a former leader.
.
In a country plagued by acute corruption problems and with the unremitted crude oil revenue scandal of 2014 still fresh in the people’s minds, many were eager for an abrupt change, the like as never been seen before. He was seen an army general, already experienced in government, with a great strength of will, tough to take on the nation’s cabal of hardened criminals. He promised to appoint only technocrats to head the country’s departments and to see out the lingering Boko Haram insurgency from the warfront. For a nation lacking basic amenities such as power supply in spite of its huge energy resources and with the lingering insurgency crises, the choice seemed easy to many- the general with integrity was the man for the country.
.
Talk was cheap then but now reality has taken its course. His earliest opponents pointed out to his track record and not to his speech, noting that the last time Nigeria fell into dismal failure, currency woes and commodity shortages was when he had seized power as a military general in 1983 and stating that the facts of that record contradicted the poems of his image brokers.
.
Many however just wanted “change” as it was then called and so voted the General and sat to wait for the sung promises. But from the onset of his government, the course was as his critics had predefined: Incompetency, bigotry and dictatorial tendencies plaguing the country.
.
He ignored the newly born genocide in the middle belt of the country perpetuated by the Fulani herdsmen of his kindred against the Christian communities in Benue, Plateau and later on Kaduna. He breached the Central Bank’s 2007 Act of Independence, telling it to suspend forex disbursements to steel importers and other manufacturing sectors in a bid to defend the Naira, a disastrous action which kick-started a spiral of recession.
.
He took 3 months to appoint his Chief of Staff, 6 months to appoint a cabinet and now 23 months and yet counting to appoint heads of agencies and board members he was so eager to fire upon his assumption into office and rose import duties on the most basic of commodities in a bid to raise government revenue.
.
And as for the corruption fight, the facts on ground do not show any one at all.
.
Apart from a few officials harassed or imprisoned without court order, the country is yet to witness the first victim of the said campaign at the court stands.
.
Government waste is on the rise, officials publicly caught in graft acts were swiftly excused, the 2016 Budget year passed without implementation and most worrisome, the Central Bank’s foreign reserves were being shared among unknown Bureau De Change operators at variable rates at the detriment of critical manufacturing, business and banking sectors.
.
The government continues to praise itself but the people seem to be increasingly tired of the paraded self-righteousness.
.
The President’s recent illness was greeted with cheers by many. Many are just tired of the government.
.
But the remarkable level of patience shown so far has been unprecedented and many a times the general reactions towards acts of constitutional violations was one of calmness or insensitivity.
.
If the Change narrative of the 2015 election and the songs of man of integrity are to account for this, then Nigerians may have just certified themselves on the world map as a nation easy to fool with propaganda. An adult should be judged on his track record not on his tongue.

10 MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD THAT ARE NEVER SAFE FOR WOMEN

Women are still not safe in these most dangerous countries of the world. The security of our women is still a big issue even though the world has progressed. Every day women are raped, becomes a part of human trafficking and domestic violence in some parts of these dangerous countries.

Here we have noted down some of the most dangerous countries in the world that are not safe for women! I bet you never knew about them!

1.Colombia.

This is probably the most dangerous country as it has the highest rate of acid attacks on women and most of them don’t even get justice. There were around 45,000 cases of domestic violence reported in 2015.

2.Afganistan

Around 87% of the female population in this country is illiterate and around 70%-80% female is forced into early marriage all between the ages of 15-19 years. It has high domestic violence cases with a maternal mortality ratio of 400 in 100,000.

3.India

India has the world’s largest population but still, it’s not safe for women due to high rates of gang rapes, domestic violence and human trafficking and female infanticides. As per the stats, there are more than 50 million cases of female infanticide in last 30 years.

4.The Democratic Republic of Congo

According to research Congo has the worst records of gender-based violence. Approximately around 1.150 females are raped every day that goes to 420,000 a year. Health outcomes are inadequate too, with 57 percent of pregnant females reported to be anemic.

5.Somalia

It is a country where they lack law and orders and sexual harassment, high maternal mortality, child marriage and female genital mutilation are an everyday concern.

6.Pakistan

Early age and forced marriage, acid attacks and punishment by stoning are the main concern of this country for the females. It’s not safe for women here as more than 1,000 females are victims of ‘honor killings’ each year, and 90% face domestic violence.

7.Kenya

The females of this country only receive a small part of the income they generate in spite of being the country with a high rate of agricultural production. Educational prospects for girls are dreadful, as they are taught at an inferior level to their counterparts. HIV is a common problem for a woman there as they don’t have any control over their private life.

8.Brazil

A research shows that every 15 seconds a female is sexually assaulted and a woman is murdered every 2 hours. Females are not allowed to make a reproductive choice as its criminal code bans abortions except in cases of rape, or where it is physically dangerous to have the baby. Women who go against and have an abortion can be jailed for 3 years.

9.Egypt

Sexual assault and harassment are so common there that even the visitors may have experienced it. Females are ignored when it comes to their rights to marriage, divorce, child custody, and inheritance.

10.Mexico

There were 4,000 cases of women disappearing in 2011-2012. Women are let down by the legal system, which does not protect against domestic and sexual violence.

News: See What Buhari Has lost During his tenure | Vibes On Heat

From 2015 till date the voices are loud and unmistakable. From the market stalls to social media, the lamentations of regret comes in angry sound bites. The faces of men and women on whose back Buhari rode to power tells the story of frustration and restlessness. An expanding number of Nigerians are alienated, angry and increasingly apathetic. Every where you turn, no single index favours the politician. Fifty percent of the Nigeran electorate is between age 18 and 35. This huge young demographic is disgusted, disillusioned and disenchanted with Nigeria’s politics and politicians. They are frustrated by years of neglect and a general lack of prospect and social mobility.

Many Nigerian Buharists have grown wary and dismissive of the optimism that greeted Buhari’s nomination as the All Progressives Congress’ flag bearer and eventual election as Nigeria’s president. Instead, they have developed a healthy dose of cynicism and skepticism. Despite initial optimism, Buhari has become more of the same. He’s turned into another clannish vote scrounger whose idea of governance is based on loyalty, religion and ethnicity. Largely, the burgeoning youth demographic, whom he energised to get elected and in whom they invested their hopes and aspirations, remains unidentified, untargeted and unaddressed.

In a world where cable news giants like CNN and Al Jazeera control what we see, images of young world leaders like Justin Trudeau and Emmanuel Macron are constantly fed to young Nigerians, thus contributing to the pressure young people feel at taking charge of their destinies. It is not only the ageing politicians that put them off, but also the so-called youthful politicians like the gilded Yahaya Bello of Kogi, who lives in his own constructed cocoon of lavish indifference. While he splurges on luxuries, Kogi workers are starving, their children are dying because he refuses to pay salaries under the pretext of his never ending verification programme to weed out ghost workers.

Voters are lost in the incredible hopelessness that pervades the homeland. Their trust has been assaulted and they have been let down ever so often. The APC and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remain two sides of the same coin. Between both parties are incurable kleptomaniacs, the political prostitutes who can be bought for cheap and made to switch parties, not for any ideological differences but for patronage. Our brand of democracy is not value-based. Idealism ended with our founding fathers before the civil war. Who we have representing and deciding for us are thieves, ethnic chauvinists, religious bigots and sponsors of terror who will steal, plunder and murder innocents as long as it furthers their political ambition.

It has become a cliché in corporate, political and development circles that the best resource a nation can have is its people. How come the Buhari administration, which we installed after driving out the profligate and prodigal Jonathan out, does not get it? When will they be done with stupidity? While education, health and infrastructure is begging for attention, a Sani Danlami representing Katsina Federal Constituency, used his constituency project funds to circumcise 130 boys, in an uncommon display of intellect and ingenuity! Before his circumcision jamboree, his governor, Aminu Masari of Katsina State purchased 3,000 Coffins with state funds. This crazier wazzock with a curious fascination with death, distributed the coffins to Mosques in his state, while his government owed workers months of acummulated salaries. He was the same guy who falsified his state’s needs to get more bailout funds. It is instructive that Katsina underperforms in all the indices defined in the Sustainable Development Goals.

Are these the people we want to rely on to solve the country’s problems like education, poverty and hunger? This waste of premium time on stupid things that have no effect on the peoples’ quality of life contributes largely to the indifference that the Nigerian feels towards politics. It is this lack of direction and purposefulness that fuels the dangerous attachment to personal success because there is no hope for collective good. Since politics and politicians are not contributing anything to public good, the struggle for the good of the individual is prime. After the individual, comes the public issues which could affect the individual. Issues like health, education, environment, infrastructure and so on. The country is despondent and in a hopeless state, in which the majority believes our problems are intractable. This no solution mode has created a platform for abdicating responsibility in all of us, from the home to the community and the nation at large.

It is shameful and equally sad on our part that people like Professor Wole Soyinka who spoke for us 50 years ago are still the ones in the forefront, championing our fights. We have no revolutionary fire in our bellies. No desire to challenge the status quo and certainly not a fiery desire to change the system. But can we truly blame anyone? Can we blame a traumatised and dehumanised people for being self-centred and confused? The government, by its inaction, is fanning the embers of disillusionment. Thanks to our corrupt polity, the little gains of democracy are being squandered. It is all about coalition politics. What we have are feckless political buccaneers seeking power for its own sake, without any breathtaking ideal that could inspire. Politics is no longer a charming spectacle but having political experience without a political base.

In conclusion, Buhari has lost the plot and his supporters by squandering a great opportunity. The last two years were a waste. He may pick the pieces and attempt some realpolitik for the next one year. He can only do that if he rediscovers himself and listen to the angry voices on the street. He must rejig his cabinet and fire Abba Kyari if he is to take his presidency back. I wish him luck because he needs more than luck to get us back.

News: Prostitute shoots man for performing wrongly | Vibes On Heat

A 21-year-old woman allegedly shot a man in the back of the head because he performed a sex act wrongly.
Fox News reports that Marissa E. Wallen, told police she shot a man twice in the back of the head because he failed to perform a sex act as she expected.
The victim, later found by police, was taken to the hospital.
But he was unable to speak and communicated with hand signals.
Wallen is also accused of robbing the victim.
Court documents explained that police received a call on October 24 from the victim’s employer.
The 36-year-old victim worked from home, and the employer was concerned he hadn’t logged in for work in the morning.
Police went to the victim’s location and found the door unlocked.
Inside, police found the victim sitting against a wall in the master bedroom. The victim was unresponsive, but awake.
The fire department was called and crews determined the victim had been shot twice in the head.
The victim was taken to Providence Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit.
Police obtained a search warrant to the victim’s house and determined credit cards and a handgun were missing from the home.
Police reviewed security footage from the victim’s home that showed a young woman coming to the home five different times between October 7 and October 21.
Security footage from October 21 showed the last time Wallen entered the home. She walked in and left a short time later.
A check on the victim’s credit cards showed 82 charges totaling more than $10,000 was made between October 22 and November 5.
Video footage showed Wallen using the victim’s credit cards at Macy’s and other locations.
After her arrest, she admitted to police she was an escort and had been hired to have sex with the victim.
“Wallen was clearly proud of her life as an escort and even asked us to call one of her clients so that he could post her bail,” court documents allege.

Going Viral: Stunning Photos of Popular SLAY QUEEN | Vibes On Heat

The music industry the world over is characterised by healthy competition which puts artistes on their toes to churn out good music for the listening pleasure of their fans, remain relevant, and as well as make a fortune.

The Nigerian music industry is not left out in this regard as it is characterised by even more dynamics that distinguish it from other music industries. Potpourri attempts a comparison of Nigeria’s top sensational music divas, Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage via their achievements so far in 2017.

Following the success of her sophomore album ‘Mama Africa’ in 2016, a stellar 10-track EP titled ‘Mama Afrique’ in 2017, and a world tour which she recently concluded, Afro-pop songstress, Yemi Alade has made a well-deserved mark in the Nigerian, African and international music space. For the Johnny crooner, 2017 has been a successful year musically and otherwise and she is not resting on her oars.

Yemi Solade
Yemi Solade

She seems to be on a mission to claim bragging rights over her female colleagues in the music game, especially acclaimed queen of Nigerian pop music, Tiwa Savage, as she is set to breath an air of fresh music with the release of her third studio album titled ‘Black Magic’, a 15-track album including her 2017 hit songs ‘Knack Am’, ‘Single & Searching’, ‘Heart Robber’, among others.

Looking back at her musical achievements so far in 2017, it may be right to say Mavin queen, Tiwa Savage, has been taking baby steps, compared to Yemi Alade. Like she was on a secret mission, apart from releasing hit songs like ‘Knack Am’, Heart robber’, ‘Charliee’ and ‘Single & Searching’, Yemi Alade dropped mind-blowing visuals to most of her old songs, a move music pundits have argued to be in the right direction as it reminded her fans of her 2016 hit songs.
At the 3rd Annual African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA), held at Cicely Tyson Community East Orange America on Saturday,  October 21, 2017, Yemi Alade who was nominated in four different categories won four awards at the event. She won awards for Best Female Single, Best Female Artist of the Year, International Artist of the Year and Best Album of the Year for her ‘Mama Africa album. Not only did she win awards, the New Jersey General Assembly commended and honoured her for being dedicated and relentless as well as for meritorious record of service, leadership and commitment.

Tiwa Savage

This was written in a notice signed by the Speaker of the Assembly, Dana M Burley and the Speaker of the General Assembly, Vincent Prieto. On the other hand, Tiwa Savage’s new EP, ‘Sugarcane’, a 6-track EP, drips of love tunes but with only two hit tracks, ‘Ma Lo’, featuring Wizkid and ‘All Over’. Though she featured afro-pop stars Wizkid and Maleek Berry, the airplay her 2017 songs enjoys is far below compared to the airplay the songs on Yemi Alade’s new EP enjoys.
Yes, you may want to argue that Tiwa Savage was named in BBC’s 100 Inspirational and Innovative Women’s list for 2017, won the award for Best Female West Africa at AFRIMA 2017, award for Most Stylish Female Artiste Africa at the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) held at the Kampala Serena Hotel in Uganda on Friday  December 8, 2017, and has performed at countless shows in and out of the country, Yemi Alade claims the bragging rights over her for having the nods of BET, MTV EMA and MOBO awards in 2017 alone.
Both music divas have obviously had a successful musical outing in 2017 but retrospectively assessing the level of their successes, it is practically difficult to crown one of them queen of Nigeria music as they both seem to be on the same level judging by their hit songs, award nominations and awards won. Potpourri leaves the judgment to your discretion as we wish both singing sensations more feathers to their caps.
